Open Source Tools for IT Automation

ControlTier Software, Inc. develops, maintains,and provides support for several open source automation technologies. Below is a list of ControlTier's tools and solutions. All are freely available under standard open source licenses.

**CTL: Distributed Control Dispatching Framework**
	CTL is an all purpose automation tool. CTL helps you leverage your current scripts and tools to easily automate any kind of distributed systems management or application provisioning task. **JobCenter**
	The JobCenter webapp is a graphical tool to schedule and run CTL defined commands. JobCenter gives the administrative staff a single interface to schedule, run and track the execution of commands and workflows. In addition to being a handy alternative to the CTL command line interface, JobCenter is also useful for delegating tasks to non-technical staff. **ReportCenter**
	ReportCenter is a tool for tracking operational activity as it happens and generating historical reports. ReportCenter is a standalone repository that collects activity events from: Commands run from CTL and JobCenter Jobs run from JobCenter Changes to the data model made in Workbench Currently, ReportCenter's primary use is for viewing activity reports. **Workbench**
	Workbench provides an integrated graphical interface for managing three core functions required for many enterprise automation solutions: A CMDB for managing details about application infrastructure, hosts, configuration settings, release artifacts, and service topology A graphical development environment to design and develop automation modules A repository (with repository management services) for release artifact and automation modules While not required for all solutions, the services that Workbench provides do play an integral part in enterprise solutions like the Application Service Provisioning System.
